Happy Anniversary

to my adorable parents, who celebrate 30 years of marriage today!

M&D on their honeymoon in 1980

Aren't they the classiest couple you've ever seen?
Seriously, that pic doesn't even look that dated.

M&D this summer

I love them so much!
I have been so blessed to have them as parents.

p.s. Haven't they aged so well? Hooray for the best genes ever.

Let's get down to business to defeat the Huns!

We watched Mulan on Thursday night.
And sang along with every song.
And I might have thought it was funny enough to record.

I love college.

p.s. Sorry for the sloppy recording. I was using Photo Booth.
p.p.s. Don't you love when the boys walk in? They wish they were as fun as the girls!

According to Parkinson's Law,

"Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion." via
This is especially true with me.
I've only had one day of class, but somehow I feel booked solid.

Some people procrastinate so that they only have an hour to work, and, as a result, their work only takes an hour.

But I can't function that way. So I end up starting way in advance and spending six hours on a task that should take half an hour.

I'm already overwhelmed by what isn't done.
Why is my new apartment still a mess!?
Why haven't I studied for the GRE more?
Why does my brain feel like applesauce?

It's like I only know how to get stuff done when I'm stressing about it. This is a problem.

In other news,
I am happy to be back at college. I missed everybody a lot. I don't ever want to graduate.
(I would just be happy never to do schoolwork again.)

Dear Blogger,

I'm sorry to tell you this in such a public manner, but I've been seeing someone else.
Someone named tumblr.

I know; I know. Liking tumblr is almost hipster of me, and I apologize for that.
(Remind me to write an entire blog soon on how ridiculous I find all of hipster culture.)

But it's just so easy to keep clicking and clicking from tumblr to tumblr, looking at all the pictures of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Grace Kelly and reading quotes from Dorothy Parker.

Seriously. It's like the crack of web sites.

So here are a few things I would have tumbled if I had had a tumblr.

It takes patience to become the best runner you can be. Top athletes realize that running is a long-term sport. It is set up for people who value delayed gratification and who like hard-earned success.
Anthony Famiglietti, two-time Olympian and six-time national champion

I know, right?
I think I'm starting one soon.
Don't hate me.

p.s. This blog is dedicated to lovely Lauren.

Affirm me!

I just got rid of four garbage bags full of clothing from my closet.

A couple items dated back to elementary school.
I know, right? It's crazy that I still have stuff that old, but somehow it hurt my a heart a little to get rid of it.

But. . . it's all part of my attempt not to end up like this.

Happy birthdays to Anna and DJ!

Continuing the tradition started by Liz's birthday,
I did picture-definitions for your joint birthday post.

But. . . I put them in a slideshow!

This is the first time I've used Picasa to make a picture slideshow.
I hope it works for you all!

LOVE you both! Can't believe how old we all are!
